If you’re as obsessed with western design as I am, you’ll never recover from this gorgeous editorial at the Simon Venue in Boulder, Colorado. This western wedding inspiration was photographed with a stunning LGBTQ couple in a sexy speakeasy. Coupled with a bespoke invitation suite and unique wearable florals, this editorial is sure to inspire those looking for upscale western wedding design ideas.
Cowboy Grooms in Wearable Florals
Our two grooms, Brandon & Matthew, were expertly styled by Amber at Rita Rose Events in these gorgeous warm toned suits. They both wore bolo ties and boots, and the looks were tied together by fantastic wearable florals. Allison at Eleven Blooms created the wearable florals out of dried flowers in warm, earthy tones. Once paired with the suits, Brandon & Matthew looked straight out of your cowboy wedding dreams.
Sexy Speakeasy Wedding Portraits
The basement speakeasy space at the Simon Venue in Boulder was such a unique location for these western inspired portraits! Their stunning bar space and the dark, sophisticated vibe of the speakeasy made these photos so sexy and intimate. This editorial was a great opportunity to play with direct flash! Obviously direct flash has been such a fun trend as of late–who doesn’t love a fun party pic?! But it was so cool to play with direct flash in a portrait setting as well and really turned up the sexy speakeasy vibes.
Western-Inspired Wedding Stationery
All of the stationery by Mikayla at Montana Paper Co was one of my absolute favorite parts of this wedding editorial. I am so inspired by western art, especially over the last few years. Specifically, I love the warm colors and the opportunity to play with such fun illustrative elements like cowboy boots and bison!
The stationery was a lovely nod to the western elements and balanced the fun, kitschy pieces of western design while also maintaining such a high-end feel. The wedding invitation suite combined many textural elements in the paper as well as stunning letterpress calligraphy. Even more, the western inspired stamps and dried florals were the perfect extra touch!
Mikayla also created a fantastic escort card wall. The guests’ table assignments were written on cards with their name and a small western illustration. It brought so many of the fun illustrative elements from the invitation into the reception design! To tie everything together, Allison at Eleven Blooms created a gorgeous floral installation with warm toned flowers in terracotta vessels in front of the escort wall.
This was truly such a fantastic wedding design and the perfect inspiration for the couple who wants to timelessly add western elements into their wedding design! Western design is a fun nod to Colorado’s past, especially for couples getting married on Colorado’s front range.
This day couldn’t have been possible without this incredible Colorado wedding vendor team!
