An Intimate Elopement with Garden Portraits

This summer, Emily & Trent celebrated their marriage with an intimate elopement at a local church, followed by golden hour portraits at the Will Rogers Arboretum in Oklahoma City.

When they first reached out to me, they were planning to have a larger wedding. I met Emily in college, where we took nearly every History class together before I changed my major to Journalism. She is just the sweetest, kindest human. When I met them to talk wedding details, it was clear that Trent is a great match for her. I couldn’t have been happier when they asked me to photograph their wedding!

A couple months later, Emily reached out to let me know they had decided to have an intimate elopement. They landed on a ceremony with just their closest family and friends at a local church, followed by bride and groom portraits.

It rained all day. Then, about an hour before the wedding, the sun came out for the most beautiful summer evening!! Their ceremony at the church was personal and sweet, with just their favorite people there to witness their marriage.

After family portraits, we drove over to the gardens where we were blessed with the most gorgeous golden hour sunlight! They graciously gave me a whole hour for portraits. If you want to make a wedding photographer truly happy, give them a couple in love, golden sunlight, and a whole HOUR to take portraits!

Peeking out the window just before the ceremony. This was easily one of my favorite moments of the whole wedding day. This window looked out into the church auditorium, and Emily checked probably every 10 minutes to see who was outside.

Emily & Trent wore matching Nike Blazers for the wedding was so cool and fun! I’m loving the trend of sneakers entering the wedding day, especially when it fits the couple’s style so well!

I always love a classic portrait under the veil. They’re just so soft and romantic! This one is going to be a forever favorite, for sure.
