denton, texas senior portraits | rachel

My baby sister graduated high school this spring. When school got cut short due to Corona, her last semester wasn’t what anyone expected, or really what anyone wanted. She graduated at Texas Motor Speedway in an outdoor ceremony where graduates sat 6 ft. apart on the track while families hooted and hollered from their cars. It was certainly different than the normal graduation experience. But luckily, one thing remained the same–the opportunity to take beautiful senior portraits in our hometown, Denton, Texas.

Rachel is pretty much my favorite human being to ever exist. She is the funniest person I know, and the person I do most shenanigans with. She is beautiful. I mean, beautiful. Her heart is generous and sensitive. She’s going to Texas A&M (our parents’ alma mater) in the fall to major in Business, and while I’m not ready for us to be so far apart, I know she’s going to kill it!!

We did her senior portraits in a little park less than a mile from our house. The same park where we used to take field trips in elementary school to play on the playground and eat snow cones. The same park where we went to birthday parties under pavilions and went on family walks one summer.

The light shone pretty through the trees that evening and a light breeze broke up the summer heat. We made stupid faces and hollered at each other while the people playing tennis 50 ft away laughed. The perfect night for senior portraits in Denton if you ask me.
